About

"Mozart is sweet sunshine" Dvorak, Antonin

If the activity in my soul had a soundtrack, it would be Mozart's sonatas combined into one endless melody.

Nothing is more satisfying than a productive and energetic piano lesson with Julie. I always leave her sweet home ready to conquer the world.

All time favorite musicians:

Mozart-always
The Beatles-when I want to sing along
Debussy-when I am in awe of the kindness, beauty and joy I am lucky enough to experience daily in this world.
Bach-When I want to solve a problem.

...the list goes on. I strive to broaden my musical interests. A man cannot live by Mozart alone, as much as I would like to.

Explanation of the photos I recently uploaded:

1- a view of the town of Hämeenlinna in southern Finland where Sibelius was born in 1856. He is said to have been inspired by this town and the surrounding countryside when he wrote his masterpeice ''Finlandia''.

2-the original manuscript of Finlandia, scrawled by Sibelius on parchment in blue ink

3-Sibelius's beloved piano, (one of two). The photo above the piano is of Sibelius himself, composing (or just chilling?) by that very same piano!

4-myself posing next to Sibelius's other piano. He is said to have preferred violin music to piano music during much of his life, but I am not convinced...

5-myself posing next to Sibelius's birth house in Hämeenlinna. The house is newly renovated, now a museum. It is about a block away from the city center (a very small city center that is).

6-myself posing next to a bust of good old Janne. He was originally named Janne, then changed his name to Jean later in life so as to sound more French, according to high fashion.

all photos were taken at the Sibelius museum that was once Sibelius's birth house. More to come!
